About TriHonu
What we build, for whom, and why.
Vision
For every endurance athlete: world-class coaching that adapts to their life and navigates them to ambitious goals.
Everything below derives from three words in that line.
- Every. World-class coaching has been reserved for professionals with a support team. TriHonu exists so that the age-grouper training around a job and a family gets the same standard.
- Adapts. A plan is only as good as its response to a sick child, a work trip or a bad HRV week. Coaching that adapts reshapes itself around your actual life, in the calendar and on the watch, not just in advice.
- Navigates. A navigator adjusts course to the currents but never changes the destination. Adapting to life is not lowering the bar. The goal stays ambitious, and the coach's job is to keep finding the route to it.
Mission
TriHonu builds a coaching platform that adapts and navigates, and puts it within reach of every athlete and every coach.
- For the athlete: an AI coach with a name, a voice and a memory of you, who reads your data, writes the plan onto your watch, and changes course with you whenever life or the body demands it, without losing sight of the goal. And when you want more people in your corner, you can add coaching staff who work alongside your AI coach, from the same data.
- For the coach: the same platform in the hands of a human coach, whether as their own avatar coach or as the tools to adapt and navigate for more athletes than one person could follow by hand. The coach is not replaced but scaled.
What TriHonu stands for
The commitments that make the vision true. They hold across every channel, athlete-facing or coach-facing.
Every
- Built for real life. Mobile-first, on the phone in your pocket and the watch on your wrist. Designed for the athlete with ten hours a week, not the one with forty.
- World-class is the floor, not the tier. Every athlete gets the same quality of coaching. What differs is the plan, never the standard.
Adapts
- Adapting means acting. Advice that stays in a chat window has adapted nothing. Structured workouts land on the watch, plans update in the calendar, and the coach has the tools to change things, not just talk about them.
- Adapt with the athlete, not to them. The coach proposes, you approve. TriHonu never commits a block, a taper or a change to your life without your yes.
- The whole athlete, not just the workout. Life shows up as sleep, stress, fuelling, niggles and mindset. All of them are performance levers, and all of them are the coach's business. Strength and mobility are non-negotiable, every week.
- A coach that learns you. Every conversation, session and niggle builds a memory of how you respond. Adapting gets better over time because the coach favours what works for you, not what the textbook says.
Navigates
- The athlete owns the destination. The goal comes from your missions and race calendar, never assumed. The coach's job is the route, not the ambition.
- Truth over comfort. You cannot navigate from a position you invented. No made-up numbers, no assumed sessions, no fabricated local knowledge. If the data is not there, the coach says so. An athlete who catches their coach guessing has no reason to trust the watts either.
- Course corrections are the job, not the exception. A missed week, a lost taper, a changed race: the coach recalculates and says what the new route is, in the first paragraph.
World-class
- A real coach, with a real voice. Two athletes asking the same question of two different TriHonu coaches get recognisably different answers. Character and philosophy are the product, not decoration.
- Specific and quantitative. Real watts, paces, dates and percentages, pulled from your data, delivered the way this coach would.
The name
Honu is the Hawaiian green sea turtle. It rides the currents it meets and navigates thousands of kilometres by memory, unhurried, and always arrives. It adapts to the ocean without ever losing the destination, which is the vision in one animal. Tri is the three disciplines it was built for first.
