Garmin keeps every session you have recorded, and its account export hands you all of them in one file. Upload that file and your whole Garmin history comes across in one go — including the sessions missing since Garmin stopped delivering them for most athletes on 21 September.
- Request the export at Garmin. In a web browser, open Garmin Account Data Management, sign in with your Garmin account, choose Export Your Data, then Request Data Export.
- Wait for Garmin's e-mail. Garmin e-mails you a download link. Garmin says the link is typically sent within 48 hours but can take up to 30 days.
- Download the .zip from that e-mail. A computer is easiest — years of training make a large file.
- Open the upload in TriHonu. Go to Insights › Activities and press Upload .fit.
- Pick the .zip exactly as it arrived — do not unpack it. TriHonu opens it for you, reads it piece by piece and shows how far it has got. Keep the window open until it finishes.
- Your sessions appear in Activities with their charts, laps and peaks, and merge with what is already there: a session you already have is refreshed or gains the file's details, and nothing is counted twice.
Worth knowing:
- There is no date range to choose. Garmin's export always holds your whole history, so every session you recorded with Garmin comes in, not only the missing weeks. Doing it again later is safe.
- If you stop it, nothing is lost. What was sent is saved, and uploading the same .zip again picks up the rest.
- Sessions you deleted in TriHonu stay deleted.
- It brings your sessions, not your nights. Sleep, HRV and the other daily numbers in Garmin's export are not imported, and TCX or GPX files inside it are counted but not read.
- A folder instead of a .zip? Some browsers unpack a download by themselves — Safari on a Mac does. Compress the folder back into one .zip and upload that.
- It works without a connection. The import reads only the file, so it does not matter whether Garmin is connected in TriHonu.
