When a session has not reached us on its own — a platform we do not connect to, a connection that has stopped delivering, or a watch you only plug in by cable — hand us the file the watch recorded. It becomes a full session: charts, laps, peaks, and the pairing with your plan.
- Get the file. In Garmin Connect on the web, open the activity, open the gear menu at the top right and choose Export Original. That downloads a .zip, which you do not need to open. Wahoo, COROS, Zwift and a watch plugged in by cable give you the .fit directly.
- Open Insights and press Upload .fit. The same button sits in the header of your Plan.
- Drop the files in, or tap to choose them — up to 10 at a time.
Every file gets its own answer:
- Added — a new session.
- Already here — refreshed — you had it already; nothing is doubled.
- Joined a session you already had — another source had recorded the same session, and the file's details were added to it.
Uploading the same file twice, or a file for a session that later also arrives from your watch, never counts the training twice.
Your whole history at once. On garmin.com, open Account → Data Management → Export Your Data and request the export; Garmin e-mails you a download link, usually within a day or two and sometimes much later. Drop that .zip on the same button as it is — do not unpack it. A TrainingPeaks workout export works the same way. The dialog reads it piece by piece, shows how far it has got, and gives you the totals at the end, so keep the window open until it finishes; if you stop it, importing the same file again picks up the rest. Sessions you deleted in TriHonu stay deleted, and TCX or GPX files inside are counted but not read.
